| The study of variations in the concentration of heavy metals inside a tank filled with the water of a neighbouring lagoon has been carried out since August 1977•The analysis concerned a lagoon station and the bath built for ECOTRON program, closed to this lagoon. They deal with water, molluscs and the sediment. Inside the lagoon station, the tested molluscs are Prosobranch Gastropods : Trochocochlea carinata and inside the basin, cockles : Cerastoderma glaucum. | An experimental eutrophication carried out with several technics on mediterranean sea water (Embiez) in autumn shows : - significant variations in the electro-chemical composition of phytoplanktonic excretion; complex organic substances are excreted during two different periods, especially after the Skeletonema costatum bloom; - close relations between heterotrophy (l4C glucose test) and excretion of organic matter by photosynthetic organisms, glucids are always predominant; - the original heterotrophy from the 14c pyruvate test; which is obviously more selective than the 14c glucose test; - the existence of different periods of active ultraplankton. |

| Establishment of the facies terminology to the upper margin sediments. Main difficulties lies to the benthic communities assemblages and with the internal relations of sands and gravels deposits. These researches deals of the preservation and potentialities of shoreline and bottoms management. We use here some quantitative methods of data treatment in relation to a variable choice and sectorial sampling areas, analysis of variance, factorial analysis (correspondances) and clustering. | On the French Mediterranean coasts, trawl fishing used to be practiced exclusively with two-sided nets until the middle of the 1970s. The adoption of four-sided trawls has changed the composition of species and sizes of the trawlers'catches in this area. Experimental fisheries conducted in the Gulf of Lion on board a research vessel belonging to the IFREMER enabled the study of the selectivity parameters of a four-sided bottom trawl with a wrapping double-pocket. Three pockets of different meshes were tried out on various demersal and pelagic species. The collected data was processed through different selectivity analysis methods. Presented here is an assessment of the relative efficiency of each of these seven methods. |

| Mud blisters related to the Parasite worm Polydora or to the presence of TBT in the Thau Basin waters depreciate the market value of the oysters produced in this lagoon. A solution to this problem was searched by immersing during 1 to 3 months the oysters in the open sea before being marketed, this shell improvment operation being called "affinage en mer". The objective or this study carried out over 2,5 months in automn '1991 was to quantify possible differences, biometrical or biochemical, between oyster immersed for "affinage" on bottom open-sea structures, or remained for a normal cultivation .in the Thau lagoon. | The laying out of an offshore site in the gulf of Lion has been realized by immersion of concrete structures in 1985. Two complementary studies have been conducted in order to estimate the impact of such artificiel reef. Gillnet fishery surveys have been done in the vicinity of the structures and also on a control site. Moreover the local profcssional fishery has been investigated for two periods of 16 months, one berore and one arter the reef immersion. | This work aims to define a typology of trawler f1eet in Sète, the main fishing harbour along the French Mediterranean coast, using several multivariate analysis methods. The fishing ships taken to account are represented by annual profiles of landing specific compositions. Five fishing strategies have been identified.
